Release Persistent Data

"Release Persistent Data" is an essential Blender addon designed to improve the performance and responsiveness of your viewport, particularly after rendering operations. When persistent rendering data is enabled in Blender, it can cause a significant amount of VRAM to be used up, which may lead to slower viewport performance, especially with complex scenes or weaker hardware. This addon provides a simple, one-click solution to quickly release this accumulated persistent data, freeing up VRAM and ensuring that your viewport remains smooth and responsive.

The Release Data button is located under Properties > Render > Release Persistent Data dropdown menu.

If you are rendering animations, and want to make some quick changes, "Release Persistent Data" keeps your viewport smooth and eliminates "Out of VRAM" message.
